This unique musical event will take you on a romantic journey through popular Russian songs and romances.

Nikita Storojev (Vocal – bass), is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow, Russia. After winning the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition, he became the principal soloist for 5 years in the Bolshoi Theater and the Moscow Philharmonic Society. Mr. Storojev has performed in major opera houses, concert halls, and international festivals around the world. His vast repertoire consists of over 50 operatic roles and more than 300 classical songs. He has performed and recorded under the direction of conductors such as Mstislav Rostropovitch, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir John Pritchard, Claudio Abbado, Neeme Jarvi, John Nelson, and Gennady Rozhdestvenski and with singers such as Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. Mr. Storojev has taught many students in several countries; eighteen of his students have won international singing competitions in Europe.

Tatiana Storozheva (piano), is a professional pianist, accompanist, and vocal coach. She received her Master’s Degree from the Mussorgsky Conservatory in Yekaterinburg, Russia and served as Head Coach at the Yekaterinburg Opera for 22 years. For her work in opera, Mrs. Storozheva was named an Honored Artist of Russia. She has received the Best Accompanist award at the Mussorgsky competition. Her repertoire consists of numerous operas and over 300 hundred songs in Russian, Italian, German, French and English. She has participated in many festivals in Germany, France, Belgium, Hungary and the USA. For the past fourteen years Mrs. Storozheva has worked in conjunction with the Butler Opera Center, University of Texas at Austin.

Mikhail Smigelski (Vocal – baritone), is from St. Petersburg, Russia. His vocal career began when he enrolled in the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory, St. Petersburg, Russia, and then in the University of Music and Dance in Cologne, Germany, where in 2012 he completed his Master’s degree in Opera Performance. In the United States, he earned a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting at the Sam Houston State University. He is currently working towards his Doctoral degree in Opera Vocal Performance at the University of Texas at Austin.

June Julian, (Vocal – soprano), has received numerous accolades for her rich, warm and inviting lyric soprano voice. Her engaging stage presence has been the highlight of many productions with the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Austin (GSSA), as well as Spotlight on Opera (Suor Angelica, Little Women, etc.). She was the featured soprano soloist in the Austin premiere of The Children’s Crusade by Cy Young with the Balcones Community Orchestra. GSSA performances include Iolanthe, Pitti-Sing in The Mikado, and Edith in The Pirates of Penzance. She has also sung with the Austin Opera, Austin Theatre Project, Austin Chamber Ensemble, and many others.
